White picked for East/West showcase

HAMILTON, Mich. — Nathaniel White has been selected to play in the annual East/West High School All-Star game held at Comerica Park in Detroit.

The senior left-hander compiled an unbeaten 10-0 record through Friday as Hamilton’s No. 1 pitcher. White is the first player in history to represent the Hawkeyes at Comerica Park.

The game, which showcases the top 36 seniors from all classes in Michigan, will be played Tuesday, June 21 at 7 p.m.

White will join Holland Christian’s Grant VanPutten as the pair represents the O-K Green conference.

“Having two players from our conference is a great accomplishment,” Hamilton coach Ken DeGood said.

Annual alumni game Friday

HAMILTON, Mich. — The annual alumni game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Friday at the varsity field.

All Hamilton baseball alumni are invited to participant in the yearly tradition, which pits the varsity Hawkeyes against their graduated counterparts in a single nine-inning game.

UPDATE: Hamilton Tournament cancelled

HAMILTON, Mich. — Saturday’s Hamilton Tournament has been cancelled due to flooding on the junior varsity field.

The Hawkeyes have rescheduled a doubleheader against Otsego High School for noon Saturday at the varsity field.
