ROCHESTER, Mich. — The Hamilton Hawkeye boys swimming and diving team captured their first ever state championship Saturday at the Division 3 finals hosted by Oakland University.

The team features several members of our baseball program.

Jordan Moses won individual state titles in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Austin Fathman, Joey DeGood, John Anthony La Porta, and Jack Lepird also captured the division’s top honors.

All three individual titles set Division 3 record times.

Today’s state championship is the second team title in Hamilton’s history. In 1984 the Hawkeye boys basketball team defeated the Kalamazoo Christian Comets 52-48 to become Class C state champs.
