Hamilton Rewind Episode 2: Spring Break Trip Preview

Hawkeyes add Rockford tournament; annual alumni game date changed

HAMILTON, Mich. — Due to graduation, the Hamilton-Hopkins doubleheader has been canceled. The Hawkeyes have filled this open date by accepting an invitation to the Rockford Invitational on Saturday, May 23. Hamilton will indeed have their work cut out for them as the other two teams will be Class A powers: Ann Arbor Pioneer and Utica Eisenhower.  Rockford (2564 students), Eisenhower (2783 students), Pioneer (2852 students) feature enrollments nearly four times the size of Hamilton’s (769 students). The tournament is also a return trip home for Hawkeye head coach Ken DeGood, who graduated from Rockford High School in 1983 and was inducted into the Rockford Sports Hall of Fame in 1993. This forces a change in plans for the annual return visit from the Hawkeyes of the past. Therefore, the annual alumni game will be played on Friday, May 22 at the varsity field.

HAMILTON, Mich. — The field is set for the Hamilton Tournament on April 25.  With defending champion Sparta returning, the Hawkeyes will also welcome the Buchanan Bucks and the Otsego Bulldogs.  This will be the first appearance for both Buchanan and Otsego.  Official pairings for the tournament will be announced in early April.
